Yaya Toure mwanasoka bora Afrika

KIUNGO wa Ivory Coast na Manchester City, Yaya Toure amechaguliwa kuwa mwanasoka bora wa Afrika.
Katika kura zilizopigwa na Waafrika na kuratibiwa na Shirika la Utangazaji la Uingereza (BBC), Toure alifanikiwa kuwashinda Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wa Gabon, Victor Moses na John Mikel Obi wa Nigeria na Jonathan Pitroipa wa Burkina Faso.

Toure (30) amekuwa akipendekezwa kupigiwa kura hizo kwa miaka mitano mfululizo, na sasa, baada ya kung’ara vilivyo na Man City msimu uliopita na huu, ameupata ushindi.

“Nimefurahi kwamba nimetwaa tuzo hii baada katika mwaka huu wa tano mfululizo kupendekezwa. Furaha yangu ni kama ya washabiki walioamua kunipa mimi, nawashukuru sana,” akasema Toure.

Anasema kwamba ni mafanikio makubwa kwa sababu katika ngazi ya juu kabisa ya soka duniani, wapo Waafrika wachache, na anawataja baadhi wanaowika sasa kuwa ni Aubameyang, Pitroipa, Mikel, Moses, Salomon Kalou na Gervinho.

Anasema kwamba soka ya Afrika inazidi kuwa ya kiwango bora na kama Mwafrika anafurajia hilo. Tuzo hiyo imekuja baada ya mchujo wa kutoka wanasoka 44 waliopendekezwa na wataalamu wa soka kote Afrika na vigezo vilivyotumika ni weledi wa wachezaji, uwezo kiufundi, ushirikiano na wachezaji wenzake dimbani, uendelevu wa ubora katika uchezaji na tabia njema dimbani.

Washindi wa tuzo hiyo kuanzia mwaka jana kurudi nyuma, nchi na timu zao kwenye mabano ni Christopher Katongo (Zambia na Henan Construction); Andre ‘Dede’ Ayew (Marseille & Ghana); Asamoah Gyan (Sunderland & Ghana); Didier Drogba (Chelsea & Ivory Coast).
Wengine ni Mohamed Aboutrika (Al Ahly & Misri); Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal & Togo); Michael Essien (Chelsea & Ghana); Mohamed Barakat (Al Ahly & Misri); Jay Jay Okocha (Bolton & Nigeria).

Tuzo hizo kuanzia 2003 kurudi nyuma zilikwenda kwa Jay Jay Okocha (Bolton & Nigeria); El Hadji Diouf (Liverpool & Senegal); Sammy Kuffour (Bayern Munich & Ghana) na Patrick Mboma aliyekuwa akichezea Parma akitoka Cameroon.
