STARS YAMALIZA VIBAYA MECHI ZA KOMBE LA DUNIA

 Yafungwa 2-0 na Gambia

 

Taifa Stars imemaliza vibaya mechi za mchujo za Kombe la Dunia, Kanda ya Afrika baada ya kufungwa na Gambia huku Kocha Kim Poulsen akisema timu yake imefungwa mabao mepesi.

Wenyeji Gambia wameshinda mabao 2-0 katika mechi hiyo iliyochezwa leo (Septemba 7 mwaka huu) kwenye Uwanja wa Independence ulioko hapa jijini Banjul ukiwa ni ushindi wake wa kwanza katika kundi hilo la C ambapo imemaliza ikiwa ya mwisho ikiwa na pointi nne.

 

Akizungumza baada ya mechi hiyo, Kocha Poulsen amesema Gambia ilistahili kushinda kwa vile ilitengeneza nafasi nyingi kuliko timu yake, na kuongeza kuwa mabao iliyopata Gambia yalikuwa mepesi.

“Hatukutengeneza nafasi nyingi za kufunga, lakini tukaruhusu mabao mapesi. Nawapongeza Gambia kwani walistahili ushindi. Unapofanya makosa unaadhibiwa. Gambia ilikuwa timu nzuri leo, kwani ilitengeneza nafasi nyingi za kufunga, sisi tukatoa mabao mepesi,” amesema Kim.

 

Taifa Stars inayodhaminiwa na Kilimanjaro Premium Lager imemaliza katika nafasi ya tatu katika kundi hilo lililokuwa na timu nne ikiwa na pointi sita ilizozipata nyumbani kwa kuzifunga Morocco na Gambia.

Hata hivyo, Kim amesema sababu nyingine ya kutofanya vizuri ni kuwakosa wachezaji wanaocheza nje ya nchi na wengine wa kikosi cha kwanza ambao ni majeruhi.

 

Mabao yote ya Gambia katika mechi hiyo iliyochezeshwa na Munyemana Hudu kutoka Rwanda yalifungwa na nahodha wa timu hiyo Mustapha Jarjue. Alifunga la kwanza dakika ya 44 na kupachika lingine dakika ya 51, mabao yaliyotokana na wachezaji wa Stars kutokuwa makini.
Katika mechi hiyo Stars iliwakilishwa na Juma Kaseja, Vincent Barnabas, Erasto Nyoni/David Luhende, Nadir Haroub, Henry Joseph, Frank Domayo, Haruni Chanongo, Amri Kiemba, Mrisho Ngasa, Simon Msuva na Khamis Mcha/Juma Liuzio.

Taifa Stars inaondoka Banjul kesho (Septemba 8 mwaka huu) saa 6 mchana kwa ndege ya Arik hadi Dakar, Senegal ambapo itaunganisha kwa ndege ya Kenya Airways kupitia Nairobi ambapo itawasili Uwanja wa Ndege wa Kimataifa wa Julius Nyerere (JNIA) keshokutwa (Septemba 9 mwaka huu) saa 8.05 mchana.
