SPRITE HASHEEM THABEET U17 BASKETBALL CLINIC, JUNE 1-2, 2012

On behalf of Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF), we are happy to announce that Cocacola Company has agreed to sponsor this year Basketball Clinic for under 17 years of age boys and girls from six regions.

The Clinic will conducted by a Tanzanian, NBA Star Hasheem Thabeet, Portland Trail Blazers centre, who is already in the country ready for the clinic to be held at Don Bosco basketball courts, Upanga, Dar Es Salaam.

The regions that will participate in this year clinic are Mwanza, Mbeya, Dodoma, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Unguja , Pemba and the host region of Dar Es Saalaam.

About 200 kids will participate in this clinic, Hasheem will be assisted by 3 local coaches and 6 accomplished players, hence all of them will benefit from this clinic.

We are expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Cocacola Company through SPRITE brand for sponsoring this event and we are requesting other companies to do the same as part of their CSR.

We are also thanking Hasheem Thabeet for agreeing to conduct this clinic as part of his social responsibility, he is a hero and true patriot, this is real commendable and other successful athletes should also do the same.

We thank Cocacola for their support in many of our events, they have been supporting us in various local and international tournaments and youth clinics, and they have refurbished several basketball courts in Dar es Salaam, Coast, Dodoma, Mbeya, Mwanza, Arusha and Kilimanjaro.

We are requesting Cocacola and other stakeholders to continue to support us in our upcoming events this year like, Under 16 basketball clinic that will be held in Arusha on 9th and 10th June to be conducted by USA based NBA coach details will be released later, Taifa Cup in October and FIBA Zone 5 National teams Championships scheduled to be held here in Dar es Salaam in Dec, 2012.
We are also requesting Cocacola to continue to refurbish more basketball courts for the benefit of our youth; this is in line with our strategic plan as part of sports infrastructure development programme.
