KAPOMBE AND SINGANO TO PAVE A WAY FOR OTHERS

NEWS has just broken that two Tanzanian youngsters, Shomari Kapombe (born on January 28, 1992) and Ramadhani Singano (born on December 31, 1992) who play for Simba Sports Club, will join Sunderland’s young squad for training. If they perform well they will play in Sunderlands Senior Team.
That news is far bigger than news of unfair decisions about who is to contest for TFF leadership. Tanzanians who are serious in analyzing sports matters have been fed up with the TFF leadership issues. But the news on Kapombe and Singano joining Sunderland is not only big but also good, the best sports news since the beginning of the year.
Ever since our country was founded no single soccer player of our country has ever moved to a European club for training in preparation for joining that club. Few have gone there for test in some popular teams. Those are Mohammed Mwameja (England), Athumani China (England), Edibily Lunyamila (Germany) and Mrisho Ngassa (England).
Kapombe and Singano will be the first players to be bestowed with that and by having that luck they will surely pave a way for other talented Tanzanians to have the same chance in the future. All will depend upon the following:-
  • Kapombe and Singano should train very hard there, given the toughness of soccer training in Europe. They should never be lazy, complaining and malingerers. If they do those things, they will lose this luck sooner or later.
  • They should pick up the tactics trained and apply them them accurately unless when the situation forces them to be creative and apply their own wits under those circumstances
  • They should be highly disciplined.
If Kapombe and Singano do well it may give a chance for others in the future to follow them.
What has started between Sunderland and Simba should be emulated by other Tanzanian clubs so as our country to have as many players as possible in European popular clubs.
As for Simba, that should not end by publicizing that big and good news but they should ensure the performance of the contract.
On their part, Kapombe and Singano should not be over proud for that achievement by regarding themselves as the best young players of Simba. There are Edward Christopher, Haruna Chanonga, Hassan Kondo Hatib and others who may be of the same standard or better than them. Therefore, they should not drop in their skills by thinking that they have reached the apex. If they drop, that chance will be taken by others. So now they should transform themselves as the best players by training hard, abiding to training, being more disciplined than ever before and work hard on pitches for the success of their teams; Simba and Taifa Stars.
