Kenyan Jerry Santos Off To Tanzania To Join His New Club Simba FC
Former Tusker skipper Jerry Santos jetted yesterday for Tanzania to join his new club Simba SC.
Santos was snapped up by the Tanzanian giants at the close of the Tanzanian mini transfer window on 30th November, ending his three and a half years stay at the Tusker FC.
Simba eclipsed India’s East Bengal FC who were in town to capture the services of the midfielder whose stride in the game has grown ever since emerging from the Nairobi’s Extreme Super Eight tournament in 2006.
“It’s going to be a great challenge joining such a renowned club, but I am ready to face it,” the 20 year-old told Kenyanfootie.com.
“Though it’s the first time I will be playing outside the country, I will do my best and prove myself,” he added.
Santos has received six caps for the national team Harambee Stars, the last game in national colours being last Monday’s 1-0 loss to Uganda at the quarter finals of the just ended CECAFA Challenge Cup.
His first game for the Tanzanian current league leaders will be against Kenya Premier League champions Sofapaka this coming Thursday in the six-team Tusker Cup that kicks off tomorrow.
