Al-Ahly set to arrive today

National Al-Ahly have revised their arrival date and are expected to land at the Julius Nyerere International Airport aboard Kenya Airways flight at 9:00 hours this morning.

The team, who earlier declared to jet in tomorrow, have sent another message to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) to declare their rescheduled arrival timings.

TFF information officer Florian Kaijage said Al-Ahly did not give any more details on how many players and officials would make up their contingent aboard the Kenya Airways flight.

`They just sent us a message notifying us on their arrival time and no more details have been attached to it,` said Kaijage.

The Egyptian side are arriving four days ahead of their return leg tie of the CAF Champions League against hosts Young Africans.

The match, which will be played at the 60,000-seater ultra modern National Stadium, will decide Yanga’s fate in the continental league.

Yanga are trailing by 3-0 goals they conceded during the first leg match played under floodlights in Cairo on March 15th.

The Mainland champions need to overturn the defeat should they advance to the next round of the continent’s most lucrative soccer league.

Yanga officials have been drawing huge optimism of posting a win on Saturday while their team are training hard to achieve the target.

Yanga, who have been a frequent victim of the North African teams in continental championships, have set target to turn history books into shreds this weekend.

Established in 1907, Al-Ahly, which means “national” in Arabic, is the most crowned club in Egypt, having won the Egyptian League thirty-three times and the Egyptian Cup thirty-five times.
