Ghanaian player trains with Simba
Ghanian Franklin Agogo has joined Simba Sports Club for trials before signing a contract depending on his performance.
Simba`s head coach Zambian Patrick Phiri said Agogo has been given an opportunity to prove his worth and should he meet satisfaction of the team officials, he would be signed for next league season.
Phiri said Simba are in need of reinforcing the team`s forward line to ease scoring profligacy.
The Zambian coach is currently intensifying Simba team in a bid to resume league action with a bang.
According to Phiri, he has worked out with defensive and midfield woes but striking is still a job unfinished.
Third placed in the league standings, Simba need to overtake second placed Kagera Sugar to build up hope of finishing second in the premiership.
The two teams are separated by two points after 15 league appearances.
Phiri said his team are eagerly waiting for their international friendly against visiting Vancouver Whitecaps on Thursday to test their dexterity.
He said his players would get an opportunity to prove their competence ahead of the premiership league resumption.
The Zambian coach has never lost a match since he took over when the second phase of the Mainland premiership league resumed in January. The only blemish in the four matches he has so far managed was a 1-1 draw with Ruvu JKT.
