TFF fines premiership clubs
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) disciplinary committee has slapped fines to some of the Mainland premiership teams for indiscipline.
According to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) secretary general Fredric Mwakalebela, Villa Squad have been fined Sh300.000 as a result of their players using unofficial entrance gate to access the stadium when they played Simba last week.
A similar amount has also been fined by Villa Squad when their fans misbehaved by assaulting match linesman when the team played against Tanzania Prisons at the same venue.
The federation has also warned match referee Pascal Chiganga who failed to honour a Simba-Villa pre-match meeting.
League leaders and possible champions to be Yanga have also not been spared of cash fine to the tune of Sh 600,000 for failure to control their fans during a match against Prisons FC at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya over the weekend.
Fans believed to be supporting Yanga invaded the pitch when Yanga’s industrious midfielder Athuman Idd notched the only important winner after 75 minutes.
A second fine for Yanga has been caused by their fans who threw bottles to referee Hamis Chang`walu during their match against JKT Ruvu played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
“We have written a warning letters to all premier league clubs informing of the need for crowd control,“ said Mwakalebela.
In related development, TFF has received information in connection with a poor state of the Sokoine Stadium that hosts premiership matches for Prisons FC.
